Abstract:
Normally, it takes many different machines and an enormous amount of energy to press, form and precisioncut metal profi les. However, all these steps are now combined in a new high-tech extrusion press for composite profi les at the South Campus of TU Dortmund. The machine, considered one of the most innovative in the world, is being used by scientists in he »Transregio 10« Collaborative Research Center headed by Prof. A. Erman Tekkaya to conduct cutting-edge research on the fl exible production of lightweight frame structures.
